About Mark

   Director of Media Ministries

Mark and his better half Lisa have one adult daughter Marisa and son-in-law Ted. He received a BA in Radio/TV/Film from Baylor University and an MA in Christian Communications from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He became a Good Shepherd staff member in the summer of 2015. When Mark and Bill Haygood were seminary students in the mid-1980s, they both served on staff of First United Methodist Church of Dallas, Bill as a ministry associate and Mark as a media associate.  Mark is glad and grateful for the chance to work again with Bill. Mark felt called of God into Christian ministry while in high school and sensed His leading into media outreach as a specialty while in college. He is an award winning producer/director who has directed the media ministries for First Baptist Church of Tyler, First Baptist Church of Dallas, and St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Houston before coming to Good Shepherd. He has worked in TV/video production for NBC and CBS affiliate TV stations and independent video production companies. Mark has served as a freelancer for Digital Network Associates and the Sugar Land Skeeters Baseball TV productions, and produced video projects for the Texas Annual Conference, the AD Players, and the Christian Community Service Corp of Houston. He is a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and Texans, and the Baylor Bears. He enjoys photography, traveling, hiking, watching movies, Christian theater, and spending time with his family and dogs.
