About Sterling

Sterling's wife’s name is Jennifer and they have one daughter, Hannah. He is a graduate of Centenary College Hurley School of Music in Shreveport, Louisiana, the University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music, and the Webber Institute in Florida. He has been on staff at Good Shepherd since the fall of 2014. Prior to coming to Good Shepherd he served on the staffs of First United Methodist Church of Shreveport, Bethany United Methodist Church in Austin, and A&M United Methodist Church in College Station.  He has had the privilege of singing as an operatic baritone internationally in 9 countries, and served as a regular clinician and worship consultant.  Sterling is a recognized Charles Wesley Scholar specializing in soteriological-lyrical theology. He was the lay delegate to the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and the Wesley Covenant Association. He was elected a delegate to the South Central Jurisdiction Conference from the Texas Annual Conference in 2012 and 2016. Sterling enjoys travel, golf, anything French, and the University of Texas Longhorns.
